Nutcracker BalletJoin Clara and her land of dreams as the Greater York Youth Ballet presents "The Nutcracker Ballet." Since 1999, Greater York has produced this York County favorite. Each year since then has gotten bigger and better! We expand our production to create a more stimulating experience for our audiences. We build and incorporate new props and scenery, add new and more spectacular special effects, design and/or refurbish costumes, and invite talented guest artists to compliment our own very talented dancers regularly. The number of dancers, students, parents, and guest artists involved in our production continues to increase every year. Auditions are held in August, and students in the Ballet Program, are eligible. In addition, younger children and boys are also needed to complete the casting. Please inquire! Spring Concert/National Dance Week Each Spring, GYCDE presents dance concert(s) featuring the members of the performing companies – the Youth Ballet, the DanceTEAMs and the Glitter Girl Ballet created especially to celebrate National Dance Week. Outreach Performances Dance Team, WorshipDance Team, and the Youth Ballet engage in many performances throughout the community. Holiday Studio Showcase & the June Show Because part of a good dance education includes performing, students who take one class per week or more have two performances opportunities. Each November/December, the students prepare and present a Holiday Studio Showcase that is free of charge to all involved, including free admission. The June Show is GYCDE’s year-end concerts that feature all the students of GYCDE from age 3 and up. We provide students and our community with a professional dance concert in order to showcase talents and to inspire achievement. The June Show utilizes full theatrical facilities such as scenery, lighting, special effects, props, sound --- the works --- to motivate students. |
