EDUCATION & OUTREACH
Project DanceDance & Outreach
Project DanceChance was created to make dance available to everyone. Here’s how:

Greater York dancers will tour area schools for all to see and experience the art of dance.
We will be able to provide underwritten tickets for families at risk and fixed income seniors to see a full length dance performance.
We will bring economically disadvantaged students to our facility to dance at no charge with supplies and attire provided.

Outreach
The York Youth Symphony performed with the company dancers in a production of "Peter and the Wolf" and "Carmina Burana." Dancing to live orchestra music was an enriching experience for the dancers, and seeing music come to life was a rewarding experience for the Symphony. The Youth Ballet recently worked with the York Symphony Orchestra in a special presentation of “Carnival of the Animals” and Peter and the Wolf. We have also collaborated with the SPCA or York, Performing Arts for Children, The York Youth Symphony, the York County Honors Choir and others.

Adopt-a-Dancer
This unique scholarship program provides a dance education for an individual dancer. Talented students who train intensely need assistance. Funds provided to these hard-working students are used to attend national summer dance programs, purchase the dozens of pairs of pointe shoes they need, and pay for their extensive dance studies. Our goal is to provide the following:

Provide the tools for a dancer to pursue a professional career.

Increase their motivation to learn in all school subjects with raised test scores.

Increase attendance rates and engage students more fully in all learning processes.

Develop higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills.

Send the message that working hard and using talents matters.
